Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL), a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), India’s largest private sector company, is India’s largest Digital Services Company. It will be the only company in the world providing next-generation digital services over an end-to-end all-IP network. The company’s stated goal is to break the digital divide between ‘India’ and ‘Bharat’ and propel India into global leadership in the digital economy. In rural areas, Jio is prioritizing connectivity to thousands of schools to ensure that the benefit of the broadband initiative is first and foremost felt by students who stand to gain the most by accessing the Information highway. It is developing specialized apps aimed at helping rural India in areas like healthcare, education and agriculture.
